METTME PRIVACY POLICY

Effective Date: February 16, 2026

Last Updated: February 16, 2026

Welcome to the MettMe Privacy Policy! We know privacy policies can be a slog, so we’ve done our best to write this one clearly and honestly. This Policy explains how MettMe Inc. (“MettMe,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use the MettMe app, website, and related services (the “Service”). We recommend reading this alongside our Terms and Conditions.

MettMe is a global service based in the United States. Your information will be sent to and used in the United States regardless of the country you live in. We have built this Policy to be compliant with the GDPR (for users in the EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland) and the CCPA (for California residents), as well as other applicable privacy laws worldwide.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

1.1 Information You Give Us Directly

When you use MettMe, you share information with us, including:

Account information: your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and password

Profile information: photos, bio, gender identity, sexual orientation, relationship mode (serious, exploring, casual, open), emotional availability, and communication preferences

Sensitive information: information about your religion, ethnicity, political views, or other characteristics you voluntarily include in your profile. This is collected only with your explicit consent and is used to help you connect with compatible people

Messages: the content of messages you send through the app (we use automated scanning to detect safety violations — see Section 1.2)

Event information: event preferences, dietary requirements, and accessibility needs when you register for events

Payment information: billing details processed by our payment partners (Stripe, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal). We do not store full card numbers

Verification data: if you use our photo check, photo verification, or ID verification features, we may collect selfie images, facial geometry data, and government-issued ID details. See Section 1.4 for more on biometric data

Support communications: your messages to our customer support team

1.2 Information We Collect Automatically

When you use MettMe, we automatically collect:

Device and technical data: device type, model, OS version, app version, unique device identifiers (IDFA, Android Advertising ID), browser type, IP address, mobile network

Usage data: features used, screens viewed, time spent in-app, swipes, matches, messages sent, events attended, clicks, and in-app purchases

Location data: approximate location from your IP address; precise GPS location only if you grant permission (used for nearby matching and event recommendations). You can disable location access in your device settings at any time

Message scanning: our automated systems scan messages for content that may violate our Terms or Community Guidelines (e.g., illegal content, scam patterns). Human moderators may review flagged content. This is necessary to keep our community safe

Cookies and tracking technologies: see Section 9 for details

1.3 Information We Receive from Third Parties

Social media: if you connect your Facebook, Instagram, or Spotify account, we receive the profile data you authorize

Payment processors: transaction confirmation and fraud prevention signals

Safety databases: where legally permitted, we may check names or IDs against public sex offender registries and other law enforcement databases

Analytics providers: aggregated data about app performance and user behavior

Other users: reports or information submitted about your profile or conduct

1.4 Biometric and Sensitive Data

If you use our photo verification or ID verification features, we may collect biometric identifiers or biometric information (as defined under applicable law), including facial geometry data derived from your selfie images. This data is:

Used only for identity verification purposes

Stored securely on encrypted servers (AWS)

Not shared with other users or sold to third parties

Retained only for the life of your account and deleted upon account closure

Handled in compliance with applicable biometric privacy laws (including Illinois BIPA where applicable)

Biometric data collection is clearly flagged in-app before collection, and you may decline verification features without losing access to core app functionality.
